What are Dental Bridges?

Bridges are devices built between healthy teeth to replace an area of missing teeth that have been lost. Bridges are held down on both sides by either healthy teeth or implants. These are permanent, irremovable fixtures, and are all ceramic and bonded to the natural teeth. They are aesthetically as they are matched to the natural tooth colour and give added strength to the occlusion. In some cases, they can be fabricated in office while the patient is present for their appointment. Cared for correctly, bridges can last around 10 years.

What are Dental Crowns/Tooth Caps?

Dental crowns, also known as “tooth caps”, are porcelain coverings that surround the entire tooth. Crowns are recommended when a tooth has had root canal therapy, is fractured unfavourably, or is heavily restored. Crowns are placed on top of your tooth and moulded to its shape.

Our office is pleased to offer our patients crowns fabricated while the patient is in the office. This saves the patient the inconvenience of having to return to have the crown inserted. These crowns are all porcelain and bonded to the tooth. They are aesthetically pleasing and strong which reinforces the tooth structure. If taken care of appropriately, crowns should also last around 10 years.
